Zparq’s electric motor is designed on a unique patented ‘open-pod’ technology – a motor completely immersed in water without encapsulation. With few moving parts and a small form factor, Zparq’s motor thus delivers high power for low volume and cross-sectional area which provides longer range and lower drag at speed than competitors’ solutions. Zparq’s propulsion systems are clean, efficient, quiet, and allow a high level of flexibility in terms of placement and energy storage solutions.
The scalability and modularity of Zparq’stechnology enables product offerings in segments where there are no submersible high-power motors today. This makes the Zparq motor very versatile and cost efficient as the same solution can be used in many different applications and market segments – for the full range of leisure boats as well as for light commercial vessels.
Zparq is developing a range of outboard motor systems from 4kW up to 3 x 100kW. The products are developed for being easy to install in almost any boat type. The motor drive can readily be adapted for OEM installations by boat designers and manufacturers.
The Zparq motor solutions can be integrated into commercial boats to provide robust, low maintenance electric propulsion for work boats and light commercial applications. The technology can be adapted to a variety of control interfaces or 3rd party battery systems.
